With 14km of wide, peaceful slopes and an excellent ski school offering English-speaking instructors, it’s ideal for beginners finding their feet. Confident skiers can explore soft, powdery off-piste terrain, while thrill-seekers should tackle the Huttu-Ukko – Finland’s steepest run and a national team training ground. Non-skiers can ride the chairlift for spectacular summit views.

The compact village pairs modern Scandi-style stays with easy slope access and a handful of cosy restaurants serving local dishes like reindeer. Evenings are relaxed, though a couple of slope side bars offer music and live sport. Off the mountain, adventures range from ice karting and ice climbing to snowmobile safaris beneath the Northern Lights.
