If it's a great value in Bansko you're after, then you can’t beat the Hotel Mura. It's located in a quieter spot near the historic old town, right by a river and in walking distance to great restaurants that won't break the bank. You have a free shuttle service here too, which'll get you to the main gondola pronto each morning.

In your down time, go for a relaxing session in the wellness area. It has a hot tub, sauna and steam bath, just the trick after a long day on the mountain. Then you can head to the lobby bar for your fave refresher, before heading out for food or to explore Bansko's lively après scene.

There’s a lot to love about Bansko, from the views of the Pirin National Park to the cheap drinks and buzzing post-piste atmosphere. For first-timers, there’s a highly rated ski school and quiet nursery slopes up the mountain where you can practise. Little learners can find their ski legs in the dedicated kids’ zone with its slaloms, obstacles and arches. And if you’re already more experienced, carve down reds near the peak or tackle the Tomba black run – it’s regularly used for world cup races.
